first experiment on yellow peas...
open up hard like regular beans
like most other beans got irregularity
hv them rinse n sort through
while wash smells real like sth... cant tell by now
smell is not like lentils or kidney beans...
dump into hot water n finally!!
finally think of what it smells like - peanuts...
coz rinse 4 quite long...
first half bag soaking in hot water long
start counting 30mins simmer when all in water..
30 mins results in quite hard peas...
not mushy like not cooked through...
texture like crunchy peanuts ...
also similar to firm lotus seeds...
after some bites give it 10 mins more simmer...
actually not much difference...
maybe should hv soak b4 hand?
notice that even if overcook still can hold shape
juz kinda firm like peanuts...
the outer part of peas got a membrane layer?
the layer is waxy firm
therefore not like red lentils which would be mushy...
when peas broken up...
some crack on curvy side...
some crack on flat side...
quite crunchy
chewing 2hrs til late morning
still cant done 500g...
