some say sprouting ones will be more sweet n nutritious... aim to test it this time...













sprouted part cut out so much still looks black n rot...










got a piece with a thick long root...










look super rot mouldy n wrinkled...
wonder will it still considered to be their characteristic?
didn't have them anyway...










boiling water taste already sweet like honey water...
with even a milky aroma when cooking...
a bit reminds me of baby milk powder lol...

looks rot or unfresh by the skin...










first cut looks like this... 2 pics focus on each part respectively...












fine fibre... moist flesh...









deeper yellow at the centre will be sweeter...
easy aftertaste not so densely sweet...

orange spots should be the sprouted points...
grey are rot point...










cut open cross section looks more dry n starchy...










bite away the grey surface looks more pale n dry
taste more starchy less silky sweet
likely an old n unfresh one...

another piece so deeply rot at stem...










cut open looks golden yellow...










flesh on the inside are sweet but a bit drier than the first... still moist enough...










fibre is ok fine...
fairly soft n tender...










four others with different sizes n shapes...












the rounder one with the most golden yellow flesh...
the more golden the sweeter...
however it's quite dense less moist...

same product as the first entry...
this time captured the detailed info on package ...


didn't take pic of the raw sweet potatoes...
they're juz same looking rough n rot...
cut out much prior cooking...
juz likely the same batch...











 cooked pot of sweet potatoes...
generally larger than sptt yesterday...
cooked for longer... an hour n sth...
the dull grey colour of the sweet potato can be obvious sign of rot...

yet smells good n sweet...
this time I changed the boiling water for two times...
but the water is still quite sweet...

 after the first one...
kinda expect this grey one to be similar unfresh n dry... 








 yet cut open turns out it's a more golden yellow one...
flesh looks moist n smooth...










 deeper colour flesh is sweeter...
btw it's got so many orange spots beneath the skin...








 the other end of the sweet potato...
very much rotten... even have already trimmed away some prior cooking...
yet it's not affecting very deep into...
still got good flesh...













3rd...

 long banana shaped piece...
with large area of stem end rot...









 pale yellow flesh...
same dry as 1st piece...
but is sweeter than 1st...








right in the centre...
a closer look at its pale starchy flesh...











at the other end of this long rot one...
got another rot through the stem end...










all pale dry fibre threads visible...
less smooth last creamy flesh...
not a fine fibre one but i like fibre thing...










two more pcs with rot black stem ends...
situation is similar...
while paler skin one will be more fresh...










this is the one with a smoother moist flesh...
it's the elongated shape one but not round fat one...
paler skin should be younger n fresher...

but fibre will be less fine...

 not first try... it's the kind of sweet potatoes I love... one of my fav... 
they are orange flesh sweet potatoes with copper red skin... 
the flesh is like a combination of sweet potatoes and carrots... 
the texture is soft n delicate... 
taste is mildly sweet juz like carrot would be...
really love them moist n mildly sweet... not that intense sticky sweet like some other sweet potatoes... 










 after boiling...
water will be amber yellow coz orange colour from flesh leaching out...

the pot of yellow water is not that sweet...
though with that deep colour...
feeling a bit bitter tea-like... likely coz the rot ones affecting...











this time only sampled one piece...
out of time n out of battery
will be having another round asap...

 it's an elongated piece...
with much rot n bruises spots...









 got its fibre visible through the skin...








 got a bit greenish yellow part...
though camera seems cant capture the tone...









 bright orange flesh
its very moist n smooth
towards the juicy moist, high water content
orange flesh sptt are usually soft flesh but not a starchy root...
mildly sweet...









clearly visible fibre path right beneath the skin...









 right in the centre of it...
bright orange flesh... with fibre strands visible...
yet fibres are not thick n hard as it looks...
still soft melty flesh... hardly sense the fine fibres
personally love that mouthfeel...











 got some rot and brown part ...
but not infecting so deep...











same as the othe end... got some black rotting starting...
gotta bite it away or will make things bitter...
